Volunteers wanted! Help assemble hygiene kits on March 3rd after worship. Sign-up HERE to help assemble. Lunch will be provided. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend to join you, and to meet new volunteers!

February is Black History Month – the annual observance of the history of the African diaspora. Begun as Negro History Week by historian Carter G. Woodson in 1926, it evolved into a month-long recognition in 1976,  with the goal of educating the American people about African American history. It concentrates on the cultural backgrounds and achievements of African Americans. We will celebrate Black History Month in worship at Broad Street recognizing African American history, culture, or traditions related to church music and worship.

Figuring Out Faith with Peter!  This Lent, we are focusing on the life and faith of one of Jesus’ most famous disciples.  In Peter, we see a person who is both steadfast and unsteady, a dear friend and a betrayer, a follower and a wanderer.  In Peter, we often see ourselves.   By following Peter’s journey, we watch the story of Jesus unfold through the eyes of a very normal human trying to figure it all out – just like us!  Wednesday night Lenten Study begins Feb. 21st.  Watch for sign-up information coming soon.

New keyless entry system went into effect February 1.  If you, or someone you know, still have church keys, you will need to exchange those for a keyless fob.  Keys can be exchanged Sundays after worship in the Narthex, or by appointment in the church office until February 1st.

UPDATED Winter mission collection items.  We’re still collecting items to assemble Hygiene Kits for The Church for All People’s homeless outreach ministry on March 3.  Needed items include: children’s toothpaste and toothbrush, nail clippers, disposable washcloths and/or wipes (infant and adult), hand sanitizer, men’s shampoo and deodorant, ChapStick, Kleenex pocket size packs, adult body wipes, BandAids.  Also collecting children and adult winter coats, hats, mittens, scarves, and new socks.
