Online Giving Made Easier!
If you missed Friday’s edition of The Builder or if you missed yesterday’s Worship service, you might not have seen that our online giving portal is now easier to use than ever. Giving, available at broadstreetumc.net/giving has a new look and feel to it, but best of all, it’s significantly easier to use—for those giving and our Finance Team alike! We hope you’ll take a look and give it a spin, and know that during the month of July, members of the Finance Team will be available to answer questions and help you transition to the new online giving platform.
Help Us Welcome Karen White, Our New Seminary Intern!
During Worship yesterday, Pastor John introduced Karen White, a seminary student from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Karen has a passion for social justice ministries and will be working with Broad Street staff and members in our ministry programs throughout the summer and fall, and possibly even into winter. Manna Café Needs Dessert Help!
Each week, a small crew gathers to assemble a nice, hearty dinner for the food insecure folks in the downtown area. Part of that dinner always includes dessert, and we could use some help making sure the desserts are well-stocked! Prior to Covid, dessert was often a piece of pie or cake, but those are far from practical as we continue to serve to-go only meals. If you would like to bake cookies, muffins, brownies, or other handheld pastries for these meals, please email the Manna team at mannacafe@broadstreetumc.net.
Sign Ups for Ushers, Greeters, Liturgists, and Flowers
As a reminder, for anyone (and we really mean anyone) who would like to assist with Worship by serving as a liturgist, an usher or greeter, or by providing flowers to decorate the Altar, we’d love to help you participate! If you would like to serve as an Usher, please contact Shelley Hobson. Sign-ups for liturgists, greeters, and providing Altar flowers are available in the Narthex every Sunday morning. Sign up for Altar flowers is also available online at bsumc501.breezechms.com/form/altarflowers.
