A Note for Sunday from Pastor Angie
Dear Beloveds, I expect at this point you have heard much about the newest Covid variant, BA.5. Though it has not been shown to cause more severe illness as Delta did, this variant is the most transmissible yet and does exceedingly well at evading immune protection—both from vaccination and prior infection. Our case numbers here in Columbus are steadily climbing up and are now at over 200 laboratory-confirmed cases per 100,000 people each week. This means we are now in the high-risk range in which the CDC recommends masking in indoor spaces. As such, with the support of your Leadership Board, I am recommending and asking us all to consider wearing a mask on Sundays while numbers remain high, particularly if seated near others and/or if you or anyone in your household might be at higher risk for Covid complications. Please note this is not a requirement. Masks or no masks, Worship is open to all!
