Heart of the City Foundation Participating in
2022 Columbus Kiwanis Charity Regatta

The Heart of the City Foundation, which contributes tremendous resources to the ministries of Broad Street, is sponsoring a boat in this year’s Charity Regatta! This event is a facilitated fundraiser where a company or individual sponsors a nonprofit charity. The sponsorship funds go to the Columbus Kiwanis Foundation and enable a nonprofit to participate and raise funds in the Virtual Regatta! The Columbus Kiwanis Foundation's charitable works support youth programs and this event specifically helps support the award-winning Columbus Metropolitan Library's Summer Reading Challenge.

All of the funds raised from this event are going to support charitable works! 100% of the virtual regatta racing proceeds go to the nonprofit charities!

To support the Heart of the City boat and send it “sailing” across the finish line, visit https://www.gogophotocontest.com/cbuskiwanisregatta-2022/entries/366032.

Online Giving Made Easier!

Our online giving portal is now easier to use than ever. Giving, available at broadstreetumc.net/giving has a new look and feel to it, but best of all, it’s significantly easier to use—for those giving and our Finance Team alike! We hope you’ll take a look and give it a spin. And as a reminder, members of the Finance Team will be available on Sundays after Worship to answer questions and help you transition to the new online giving platform.

We’re Getting Ready for Our CRIS Family!

You may have heard that Broad Street is sponsoring an immigrant family coming to the US in August! We now have a wish list of furniture and smaller items, which we’ll be expanding as we learn more about our family: https://www.wishlist.com/user/BroadStreetCRIS. If you can provide an item on this registry, please mark it as “reserved” and email Jenni at cahillj2@miamioh.edu to coordinate (we would appreciate it if you can deliver larger items directly to the family’s apartment later this summer). Photos on the wish list are just a visual; we welcome any style of new or used items in good condition! And, please feel free to share the registry with your friends and family. To learn more about CRIS, visit https://www.crisohio.org/about.

Pastoral Care Reminder

Pastor John is out of the country until July 31. Please plan to direct all Pastoral Care concerns to the Church Office at (614) 221-4571 or office@broadstreetumc.net.

SAVE THE DATE
for the 2022 Central Ohio CROP Hunger Walk!

We have the choice to walk together with other CROP Walk teams from Scioto Audubon Metro Park on Sunday, October 9, or we can do our own hybrid walk as Team Broad Street and choose our own date/route. Sign up at bit.ly/3v30YRw.

Summer Fun Opportunities

Columbus Clippers games; free outdoor movies from 9-11 p.m. at the Columbus Museum of Art (Aug. 5th is Black Panther); CMoA Bar-Art-Music Thursdays from 5-9 p.m. through September. Contact Shelley Hobson at shelleyhobson999@gmail.com with questions or if interested!

Manna Café Needs Help!

Our minimum weekly cost (even when others provide the main meal) is $165. The Manna Café ministry has a tremendous need for donations of either supplies or monetary funds. If you are interested in contributing, please see Pastor Angie, email mannacafe@broadstreetumc.net, or give online.

Sign Ups for Ushers, Greeters, Liturgists, and Flowers

As a reminder, for anyone (and we really mean anyone) who would like to assist with Worship by serving as a liturgist, an usher or greeter, or by providing flowers to decorate the Altar, we’d love to help you participate! If you would like to serve as an Usher, please contact Shelley Hobson. Sign-ups for liturgists, greeters, and providing Altar flowers are available in the Narthex every Sunday morning. Sign up for Altar flowers is also available online at bsumc501.breezechms.com/form/altarflowers.
